Lee's Community in Action

Lee’s Marketplace contributes to local food pantries every year to help feed our communities. This year was even more special as team members had the opportunity to volunteer at the food pantries and see what an impact they really have. From packing weekend lunches for kids to packaging produce, Lee's team got to have a hand in it all. “It was such a humbling and rewarding experience,” said Neashia, manager of Human Resources. “Makes me proud to be a part of the Ogden community and I look forward to many more experiences with their projects personally!”

While reflecting upon the experience, one theme became prominent among those who participated: gratitude. Gratitude for what they have, for the chance to work as a team with coworkers, and for the individuals and businesses that come together to support the community in such a way. Zach shared, “I feel like anytime I get involved in community service projects, I gain a new appreciation for the span of who we are assisting. It was very interesting to hear how many people they are helping in the community with their organization and the hand I was able to have in it.”

During the months of October, November, and December, Lee’s focuses on raising donations for local food pantries. At the register, guests have the option to contribute to the food pantry. As these funds build, the food pantry is able to order when and however much they need throughout the year so they can access perishable items as well as canned goods. At the end of the holiday season, Lee’s contributes $10,000 as a company as well.
