\"Hunting For a Cure\" for ALS
On June 3, 2022, Lee’s Cares Foundation hosted its thirteenth annual golf tournament with the theme, “Hunting for a Cure”.
Hosted at Birch Creek Golf Course in Smithfield, Utah, 36 teams and various sponsors (see below) gathered on a warm and sunny Friday for a friendly competition and fundraiser.
The event raised over $143,000, of which proceeds will be donated to Brain Chemistry Labs, a non-profit research institute in Jackson, Wyoming to fund further research for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis- more commonly known as ALS or Lou Gehrig’s disease.
After the tournament, participants were able to hear from Kyle Brown, who is currently battling ALS. Brown’s positive outlook on life and optimism for the future shone as he shared his experience and gratitude.
Lee’s Cares Foundation was created after the passing of Lee Badger, who battled the disease for a year before his passing. Lee Badger and his wife, Shari Badger, founded Lee’s Marketplace and the Lee's Cares Foundation raises money to conduct research for ALS victims and to support their families.
